Overview
Our goal is to guide students and their families through the college admissions process, offering them uniquely personalized and responsive service. We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards and promise to respect our clients’ privacy. We encourage all of our students to develop and maintain a strong and positive relationship with their high school counselors. We do not consider ourselves a replacement for them; rather, we supplement their efforts.
9th and 10th Graders
- Complimentary initial consultation.
- Student and parent intake questionnaire.
- Intake and Planning Meeting – Evaluate and strategize high school curriculum, standardized testing, and discuss college wish list and criteria; discuss extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and enriching summer options; introduce student to licensed technology platforms designed to facilitate the application process.
- Initial student personal narrative development.
- Goal setting for future college visits.
11th Graders
- For new 11th grade clients, services include all those listed above.
- Curate a well-researched, balanced, and individualized college list including Reach, Target, and Likely schools. Provide insights into Early Decision, Early Action, Regular Decision, and scholarship strategies.
- Create a target list of campus and virtual tours, and prepare students to conduct meaningful visits.
- Create individualized timelines and help manage deadlines.
- Assist with development of performance and artistic portfolios, including: resumes; videos; photographs; specialized essays; and audition requirements.
- Guide initial resume and personal narrative development.
- Finalize and plan teacher recommendations and senior year courses.
12th Graders
- For new 12th grade clients, services include all those listed above.
- Essay brainstorming and review.
- Application management, including a master deadline schedule, with automatic reminders and an organizational platform that consolidates all application material and information.
- Application support for Common Application, Coalition Application, UC and institutional applications.
- Mock college interviews.
- Guidance on college decision and waitlist strategy.
- Comparing financial aid and merit scholarship offers.

Giving Back
A founding principal is to make our services available to as many students as possible. We provide pro bono college counseling to underserved students through established, community-based organizations and public high schools. To date, The College Curators have volunteered with students through ScholarMatch, CollegeMatch, Santa Monica High School, and Van Nuys High School.
Connecting Virtually
The College Curators have the capability to work virtually with students throughout the US and Internationally.
