When should we start college counseling?
We work with students from 9th–12th grade. The earlier we begin, the more intentional we can be with course selection, extracurricular planning, and summer strategy. That said, we regularly support students who begin mid-junior year or even in the fall of senior year. We will meet students where they are, and move quickly with structure and clarity.
Do you only work with students applying to top-tier schools?
Not at all. Our method works for any student with drive and curiosity, whether they’re aiming for Ivies, highly selective liberal arts colleges, public flagships, or specialized arts programs. We help each student find the schools that align with their strengths, values, and goals.
What’s included in your Comprehensive Plan?
Our Comprehensive Plan covers every stage of the process: school list strategy, essay coaching, application platforms, interview prep, and decision support. We also guide students on academic and extracurricular planning, summer options, and narrative development, so their application is strategic, authentic, and aligned from start to finish.
How is your approach different from other firms?
Our approach is grounded in reflection, intentionality, and storytelling. We guide students to identify the intersection of their interests, experiences, and initiative, and shape an application strategy that’s both compelling and verifiable.
Do you offer hourly sessions or smaller packages?
Yes. In addition to our Comprehensive Plan, we offer a 4-hour package for focused support and hourly advising for specific needs, such as school list review, essay feedback, or final application polish.
Will you replace our school counselor?
No. We deeply respect the role of school-based counselors and defer to their judgment and experience. Our work complements the support provided by school-based counselors by offering more individualized strategies, structure, and time.
How involved are parents in the process?
We keep families in the loop and welcome collaboration, but our work is student-driven. Our goal is to empower students to take ownership while keeping parents informed. Parents are welcome at all meetings and in all aspects of the application process.
What support do you provide for standardized testing?
We don’t offer test prep, but we provide strategic guidance on all aspects of testing: whether a student should submit scores, how to navigate test-optional policies, and how testing fits into the overall application narrative. We help families understand testing requirements, weigh the pros and cons of submission, and make confident, informed decisions.
Do you work with transfer students?
Yes. We support students looking to transfer from one college to another, whether from a community college or a four-year institution. Using the same core methodology, we help transfer applicants reflect on their academic direction, assess their current path, and craft a narrative that explains both the why and the what’s next.
